I tried a Fitbit but that wasn't accurate, and I didn't want to strap an exercise monitor around my chest, but this is perfect. I can put the lanyard around my neck when I'm out for a hike and then make a quick stop to check my pulse. I also use it when I'm on my excersie bike so I can hit my target heart rate. Like others have commented, I get the quickest and most accurate reading when my hand is still and I'm not putting down pressure on the unit with my finger. I checked the accuracy against the medical equipment in my doctors office during my last appointment and it is right on. And with the pandemic raging across the country it's gives me peace of mind that my O2 levels are OK since I'm part of a vulnerable group for serious Covid-19 complications.Works well, I took it to work and compared with expensive one, same reading.
